Atlanta Vist with Matt and Megan

Hi Everyone...this is a simple review of the trip Maryanne and I took last week to Atlanta to visit Matt and Megan. We had a very fun time and had lots of time since they were able to take vacation from work.

One of the things I really wanted to do as have lunch at Fogo de Chao (http://www.fogodechao.com/dining.htm). It is a Brazilian steakhouse where the waiters are gauchos that carry meat around the restaurant on a skewer. You simply turn your "card" over to the green "I want meat!" side and here they come. When you want them to stop, you urn it over to the red "I surrender" side. We were fortunate to be able to go with our best friends, Ron and Teri just before Ron had to leave on a trip...he is a 767 pilot for Delta.

I was also anxious to see Matt and Megan's dog, Tonks. She is an 8 month old pound puppy...boxer and lab mix they think. She reminds Maryanne and me of our family dog, Sunshine Buttercup (a.k.a. Sunny), who was a yellow Lab we had while the girls were growing up. Tonks is a sold 50 lbs and still growing...you can tell she loves people!

Matt and Megan have a Wii game...it is fun and addicting! Some how, photos were taken of me and Ron playing the boxing game. He beat me in a split decision. My only consolation was that I K.O.'d Megan...something I had thought about doing several times earlier in her life...

And with a little coaching, Megan discovered she's pretty good at Wii golf as well as bowling!

I had hoped we would also get a chance to do some house-hunting with them. They are coming up on the end of their apartment lease and looking for something between where they work and where they go to church. This is a nice opportunity in a smaller community called Senoia (http://www.senoia.com/). The house is in a great neighborhood on the west side of Main Street, north of the heart of the city and has good potential for them to build some sweat-equity while living in it. It's a basic split-level 3 bed/2 bath on a great lot with the neighborhood "green area" immediately behind them.

As you can tell, we had a great time and look forward to hearing how things progress for them. I've pushed Megan about as hard as I can to start a blog to share their house hunting...note the name of this blog...so if you have the chance, feel free to give her a push too!

Glad you had a fun time though.

Of course, Marlon - you know you can rename the name of your blog since I'm fairly sure you're done with the house hunting thing...

Love, Deirdre
