Today has been crazy. Even though we signed the contract offer on the house on West Texas at just after noon, I'm only now (11:30pm) getting to putting the blog together! Simple evidence as to why we need our own house...
Some of the following pictures my be repeats to some of you, but they give the primary examples of why we chose to make this house our first choice.
This is the living room immediately after entering the house. That big chair will have to go! But look out the window behind the sofa...do you see any other houses? BINGO! The way the lot sits on the street, this window as well as the porch look down the block between the row of back-to-back houses. When considered with the beautiful landscaping, it really sold us...so to speak. This next picture is from on the covered porch just on the other side of the living room window looking the same direction. The near left and right trees are on the lot which ends just behind the landscaping they are placed in. In this picture a glass sliding door from the breakfast nook and kitchen is on the left and the french door from the master bedroom is on the right...you just can't see them in this photo. Still hard to see the other houses...
This is the master bath...notice the two vanities. The bigger one is on the left just inside the door (guess whose that is). Mine is the smaller one on the right side of the picture. You can't see them, but the toilet and shower are back there too. One detail we noticed is that the mirrors are doors to very shallow cabinets and they are hinged so that when they are open they allow you to see the back of your head . Maryanne likes this for doing her hair...needless-to-say, I don't need this feature.
The tub is a nice jetted one that is pretty roomy and can accommodate two...grandchildren, of course!
Just in case you are still having trouble remembering this one, here's a front view. Just behind the small tree to the left of the door as you look at it, you can see the porch. It's not very deep, but will probably allow us to put our porch rocker out front.
This photo is from the back edge of the lot. You can see the deck, a stone patio, and a rock covered area under the deck by the window for the basement family room. This photo was taken about 7:15pm, so you can see that I'll be able to grill on the patio in the shade! This is a big plus for me!
The only other news is that it appears the owners are "sitting on" our contract. We got a call from Pam this evening to share comments form the sellers' agent. They have another interested party coming in tomorrow to look at the house plus there is an open house that had been schedule for tomorrow. Apparently another interested couple will be looking at the house then. So we're going to have to show some patience and see if any other contracts are offered. We are anxious to see what God will provide, but patience really isn't my or Maryanne's strong suit...please pray for us!
:-)
We'll keep you posted as thing unfold.
