Anyone who knows us knows the day starts in bed...with presents!
After some warm up presents of candy and a DVD, Maryanne found batteries...what could that mean? A CD player! Yes, it looks like an electronics birthday for Maryanne!
And for something to do while listening to music...Wii!
Thanks to Shannon standing in Wal Mart waiting for them to bring the in-demand game hardware out to the shelf, I was able to get this for Maryanne. She had asked for it, but didn't expect it, so it was a great surprise... Not one to miss an opportunity to pursue the coveted title of "Daughter of the Year", Shannon bought a Wii game that also got us a second controller. SWEET!
After presents come sustenance...in bed...today was an egg casserole that Shannon and I made...without shouting or tears... Shannon then pitched in and decorated cup cakes for us to bring to lunch at church. I learned never to ask an artist to decorate cup cakes...it becomes an art project and adds to the time required. But don't mistake this for a lack of appreciation...thanks Shannie.
The afternoon was spent setting up and playing Wii. It was a blast and should be something we really enjoy when everyone is here for the 4th of July! Then we got dressed for dinner out at Abuelo's and desert at Granite City. There is a story about getting dressed for dinner, but again, you need to talk to Maryanne to learn about that.
Well it was a great day for all of us sharing in Maryanne's special day.
Shannon really liked her margarita. She told me so at least three times!
