Veterans Day...I Think

I loved working and playing with my own children as they grew up, but being a grandparent and having the freedom to enjoy my grandchildren as they are growing is quite a different enjoyment.

If you keep up with our daughter, Kierstyn's blog, you will be familiar with Elizabeth-isms and Micah-isms. They are simply accounts of the misunderstandings and miscommunications of being 4 and 2 years old...funny, entertaining and definitely heart-warming. Sometimes they talk about soccer, sometimes about their friends or siblings, and sometimes about God...it really keeps all of us adults on our toes!

Tonight Elizabeth called me and she sounded...well, happy. So we talked for a few minutes while she recounted all the people she knows who make her happy and also that she loves. Soon, and after some urging by her mother, Elizabeth shared why she had wanted to call me. She wanted to wish me a "Happy Veterinarians Day!"
Thanks Elizabeth...and I love you too!

And happy Veterans Day to my Dad, retired USAF, my Uncle Melvin, retired ANG (USAF), and all the men and women that I served with during the 22 years before I retired from active duty with the USAF...too many to name and too important to miss.

Here's a link to a brief description of Veterans Day and some pictures I've collected...enjoy.
