Identifying Your Personality Type

If you know Wichita, you know that the multiple aircraft manufacturers in town are very challenged financially right now. It is a combination of the economic recession, aviation market depression, and the uninformed, emotional outcry against corporate aviation by the Congressional leaders responsible for sub-prime lending and housing crisis...read Barney Frank who is trying to redirect attention from his culpability. But I digress...

My company, Hawker Beechcraft projected layoffs of 2,300 in 2009, with the majority announced yesterday...approximately 2000. Thankfully God preserved my job...given those I know who were let go, there is no other conclusion.

In leading up to this event, I had been working on my resume and prayerfully considering my options since I have been with the company less than 2 years. One thing I did was look at various potential jobs based upon personality type, and I found a site, HumanMetrics, that had a free Jung typology test (a.k.a.Meyers-Briggs) and link to the types of jobs typically associated with the various "types". Since I had taken this assessment twice before, I thought I'd try it to see if my results were the same...yep, ENTJ (Extrovert, Intuitive, Thinking, Judging) know as a group as the Fieldmarshals by psychologist and academic David Keirsey. Thankfully, we're rare...only 2% of the population.

But what about you? You can take the free test and get your assessment in about 5 minutes at the HumanMetrics Jung Typology and HRPersonality site by following this link.

If you are comfortable with the results, I'd love to know them...and don't forget, this is a tool developed by humans, not permission. If you don't like the results, remember that God changes people. I know because He continues to change me!

ESFJ---according to your picture chart--the hosts and hostesses of the world. Mine was different than the last time I took it, but I don't remember exactly what it was then.

ESFJ -- Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging -- the providers

Shocking, I'm the same as mom! :-)

INTJ--Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Judging--Rational Mastermind, comprising about 1% of the population according to Keirsey.

Hi Curtis...there are probably more INTJs, it's just that no one has heard anything from them...

On real surprise - ISTJ - Introvert, Sensing, Thinking, Judging - The one word that best describes Inspectors is superdependable. Whether at home or at work, Inspectors are extraordinarily persevering and dutiful, particularly when it comes to keeping an eye on the people and products they are responsible for. In their quiet way, Inspectors see to it that rules are followed, laws are respected, and standards are upheld.

I finally took it! I'm an ISFJ. Just like mom and Kierstyn but introverted.
