Locks of Love

These are padlocks on the fence on the bridge across the Rhine River in central Cologne (Koln) Germany. I had noticed them in January 2008 during my first trip to Cologne, but there weren't very many...not so now!

Locks of Love around the World! - Google Earth Community: "Locks of love are the padlocks fixed by loving couples, on to a fence or a pole or metallic chain/string alongside some wall etc at a public place, to symbolize their eternal love. A couple would hang a padlock after inscribing their name or initials on it and throw the key away so that their love is locked forever. Some couple use two inter-twined locks, each lock bearing their name/initials. Besides lovers, often family members and close friends also put such locks at these places, to lock their relationship forever."

Those of you who know me and my family know why the one above is my favorite!

Very neat! Did you put a lock on for you and mom? Or me and Curtis? Or Matt and Megan? Or Jesus?

lol! No need to feel bad. There's always next time.

I really like the one with the lock and the keys, and the three locks together.
