More Thanksgiving Fun!

Any one who has been around our house when we are preparing a turkey knows that the turkey is treated like a friend. First, we name our new friend...Cedric is a favorite, but sometimes we've been known to project on to the turkey. Something like imagining that troublesome colleague's face on the dart board...head as the football...but I digress...

Some times our new friend has been known to dance around the kitchen or even around the house. It looks something like a puppet. This guy isn't one of ours, but he still follows the same idea...kinda...ours never picked up a knife!

Another favorite Thanksgiving tradition when our girls were young was re-enacting that first celebration between the Indians and pilgrims. Our family were the pilgrims and our guests were the Indians. We all spent some time working on our head dressings and wore them for at least the first few bites our our meal. This could have been any of you!

These are not representative of our family...yet...they made me laugh! I hope you enjoy...
If you don't understand the one above, call ME...DO NOT ask your preschooler!
I laugh every time I look at this one
Friends, I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration. Please remember the kind providences that sustain us in this country and the righteous God whose grace and mercy grant them.

We sure have enjoyed our Johnston Thanksgivings. Hats and performing turkeys included! We count you among our most treasured blessings. Love, R and T

After reading and missing our family traditions, I think our family must be crazy! At least we keep ourselves entertained. Matt still doesn't understand the turkey dance. :-)
